Monday January 14th, 2008
We arrive at 5:15am for inducement! They start the pitocin followed soon by the epidural. We had the ipod set up with relaxing music chosen just for the occasion and the lights low. My parents, Jay's parents, sister Cori, Aunt Judy, Uncle Malcom, Aunt Kristi and our friend Melanie were all at Touro patiently waiting for Baby James. Before we knew it, it was time and a little before 4:00 Dr. Ross arrived for the delivery. With just Dr. Ross, Nurse Katie, and of course Jay in the room, we began pushing. With less than 30 minutes of pushing Baby James arrived. "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles was playing on the ipod. It was the best moment of my life. Jay was an incredible coach and he even cut the cord! James Randall Allen III was born at 4:20, January 14th, 2008 weighing 7.57 pounds and measuring 20.25 inches. Our lives are changed forever. We are truly blessed!

What a cutie...and ya'll don't look so bad yourselves. So happy James has arrived! But that "predict the birth day" pool doesn't count....not when you get induced on your due date, Shelly!!
